DR BOGDAN NUTA

Having completed my general medical training years between 1996 and 2000 in Newcastle, Sheffield and Cheltenham and becoming a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London I began my training in adult cardiology in 2000 at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton. As a Cardiology Research Registrar I published work on arrhythmic risk stratification of sudden cardiac death following myocardial infarction (heart attack).

In 2002 I moved to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, where I continued training in all aspects of investigation and the treatment of cardiac disease as a Cardiology Specialist Registrar.

In 2005 I moved to the South West Cardiothoracic Centre, Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, to continue my invasive cardiology training. Between 2006 and 2008 I sub-specialized in arrhythmia and the implantation, follow up and programming of simple pacemakers and more complex devices such as biventricular pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD).

In May 2008, on completion of my specialist training, I was appointed by Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to develop the complex cardiac devices service in the county.

As a newly appointed Consultant Cardiologist with arrhythmia and complex pacing expertise, I was the co-founder of what has now become a mature, proud and very busy service for several thousands of patients. We have been implanting cardiac devices locally since 2008, therefore saving patients the need to travel to Bristol or Oxford for treatment or follow up care.
